Peter Murphy has extensive experience in the dairy industry, holding various leadership roles at Fonterra since August 2001, currently serving as General Manager of Specialty Products. In this position, Peter leads over 900 staff, focusing on commercial strategy and operational excellence for a diverse range of products, including consumer and paediatric powders, UHT milks, and processed cheese. Previously, Peter managed the Central North Island region with over 1,150 staff during a significant period of transformation. Peter's earlier roles included Operations Manager at multiple sites, where substantial improvements in quality, safety, and process efficiency were achieved. Peter also gained experience at Kapiti Cheese from January 1998 to July 2001, with roles culminating in Packaging & Ice Cream Manager. Peter holds a Bachelor of Technology in Manufacturing Engineering from Massey University and a Diploma in Competitive Manufacturing Management from NZIM.
