Lauren Halvorson has been working in the food and hospitality industry since 2009. Lauren began their career as a Shift Leader at Tropical Smoothie Cafe in 2009 and then worked as a Cook for Tipton Staffing and Turf Catering in 2010. In 2011, they worked as a Cook 2-Culinary for both The Breakers and Walt Disney World Company. In 2012, they were an Assistant Sous Chef at Marriott International. From 2013 to 2017, they worked as a Personal Chef. In 2018, they became a Warehouse Team Lead at Fooji.

Lauren Halvorson earned their Associate of Science Degree in Culinary Arts from Sullivan University in 2011. Prior to that, they attended the University of Kentucky from 1998 to 2002, studying Merchandising, Apparel, and Textiles.
