They ran a background check on you. What did you run on them?

Footnote is personal employer diligence for people weighing a job offer. We compile SEC filings, certified Department of Labor wage data, and the public record — layoffs, litigation, leadership churn, insider sales — into one scored, cited brief: a verdict on the offer, where the pay actually sits in the market band, the company's real health, and a negotiation playbook with the words to use. Every serious claim opens to a named public source.

Glassdoor tells you how people felt. Footnote tells you what's on the record.

Every brief includes Genevieve, a private concierge who has read it — she explains the verdict, drafts the counter-offer, and checks back in before the conversation. Private by design: your brief and conversations are never used to train AI models, never shared, never public.

Start free: run your offer against 551,000+ certified wage filings at usefootnote.com/check, or browse what 50 major employers certify they pay at usefootnote.com/pay.

The story is always in the footnote.
