Chani Getter

Chani Getter is an experienced professional with a diverse background in education, mental health, and advocacy for marginalized communities. Currently serving as a Scholar in Residence at Footsteps, Inc. since May 2013, Chani enhances the cultural competency of partner organizations to improve services for individuals transitioning from ultra-orthodox backgrounds. Chani also holds the position of Mental Health Therapist at Body Positive Works since December 2020 and has been a Certified Life Coach and Motivational Speaker with Inspirational Living since September 2006. Previous roles include Senior Director of Organizational Development, Family Supports Coordinator, Rockland Facilitator at Footsteps, Inc., Workshop Facilitator at Keshet, and Director of Women's Programming at Nehirim. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Clinical/Medical Social Work from Rutgers School of Social Work, a Bachelor of Arts in Human Development from SUNY Empire State College, and certifications from One Spirit Interfaith Seminary and Coaching for Transformation.
