Marshall Shepherd

Marshall Shepherd currently serves as the Associate Dean for Research Scholarship and Partnerships at the University of Georgia's Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, where leadership is provided in developing a multidisciplinary research ecosystem. In addition, Marshall is a Senior Contributor at Forbes, focusing on articles related to weather, climate, and STEM topics, and hosts the Weather Geeks talk show on the Weather Channel, discussing various weather and climate issues. Marshall also holds the position of Georgia Athletic Association Distinguished Professor and Director of the Atmospheric Sciences Program at the University of Georgia. Prior experience includes serving as a Research Meteorologist and Deputy Project Scientist at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, where work contributed to satellite programs and insights into hydroclimate processes, as well as running a consulting firm called Metropolitan Weather Solvers. Educational credentials include a BS, MS, and PhD in Physical Meteorology from Florida State University.
