Simon J. Clark is currently a Research Professor at the University of Tübingen, focusing on the pathomechanisms of ocular disease since October 2019. In addition to this role, Simon serves as an advisor for Forbion in innate immunology and immunochemistry and is a co-founder of Complement Therapeutics, a BioTech venture dedicated to developing treatments for complement-mediated diseases. With a longstanding association with The University of Manchester since November 2006 as both an Honorary Professor and Research Fellow, Simon has led research on innate immune regulation related to age-related macular degeneration. Simon's academic journey includes a D.Phil in Biochemistry from the University of Oxford and a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry (with Immunology) from the University of Aberdeen, complemented by seven years of postdoctoral research on immune system regulation.
