Darren Smith

Darren Smith is a Principal Data Scientist at Forcepoint, currently leading the X-Labs Data Science Team, focusing on company-wide AI initiatives and guiding AI upskilling efforts. With a background in data science and analytics, Darren has held positions including Senior Data Scientist in various domains such as Forcepoint One and Analytics Engineering, where responsibilities involved developing insights and cloud analytics for data protection products. Prior to Forcepoint, Darren was a Data Scientist at Logitech in the supply chain team, a Software Engineer at Johnson Controls, and a Software Developer at Pilz Ireland. Darren's early career included ten years of service in the Irish Defence Forces, managing staff and vehicles. Educational qualifications include an MSc in Data Science and Analytics from University College Cork, a BSc in Software Development from Munster Technological University, and training as a Heavy Goods Vehicle Mechanic.
