Phil O'Donovan

Phil O'Donovan is an accomplished entrepreneur and business angel with extensive experience in the semiconductor industry. As the founding Managing Director of CSR plc, they played a pivotal role in transforming the company from a startup into a FTSE 250 firm, leading to its acquisition by Qualcomm for $2.5 billion. Phil currently serves as a mentor, investor, and director for emerging telecoms and fabless chip companies, as well as a Strategic Advisor at Forefront RF, while also speaking on entrepreneurial topics at universities and advising organizations on IP commercialization. They hold a PhD in Optical Character Recognition from the University of Essex and have degrees in Electrical Engineering Science and Systems Engineering from the universities of Warwick and Birmingham, respectively.
