Michael Lucca

Mr. Lucca is a senior executive with over 30 years of experience in the information technology industry. He has held various senior management roles in engineering, marketing, business development, and strategy in both large corporations and startups. Mike has developed market strategies for various technology segments including machine-to-machine (M2M), middleware, cloud computing, and mobile/wireless. This has included market analysis/segmentation, partner and acquisition strategy, contract negotiation and deal structuring, relationship building, and go-to-market plans. Most recently, Mike was a Principal at the Incubation Factory (TIF), a specialized investment and business incubation firm focused on building new companies from university research. Mike was responsible for locating and identifying research technologies with commercial potential, managing the extensive due diligence process on each technology, negotiating the licensing agreements, and managing the commercialization process for each portfolio company. During this time, Mike worked closely with over thirty-five (35) research universities. While at TIF, Mike founded and managed five new startup companies based on research technologies across a range of industries. Prior to The Incubation Factory, Mike was the Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for Velocita Wireless, a wireless data service provider in the M2M/IoT (Machine-to-Machine/Internet-of-Things) industry. Prior to Velocita Wireless, Mike was a Venture Partner at Software Ventures, a seed-stage fund focused on university start-ups. His background also includes executive tenures at Hewlett-Packard, Unisys, and Bluestone Software. Mike is also active in the university entrepreneurship community as a volunteer and business mentor and a former member of the Entrepreneurship Program Advisory Board at Rowan University.
