Forest Hill School is a thriving and aspirational comprehensive school in SE London providing high-quality education to boys aged 11-18. We are a community that is wholly reflective of this district of London, teaching pupils from all backgrounds and of all abilities.

We also have a highly successful joint Sixth Form provision with Sydenham School for male and female students. We consider it the best place for post-16 study in the borough. This is exemplified by a year-on-year increase in the number of pupils progressing to Russell Group universities and other prestigious institutions, and an enviable record of young people moving on to study at Oxford and Cambridge.

We believe that students achieve their full potential if they enjoy their work and find it stimulating and challenging. Forest Hill School offers a curriculum of great breadth that includes Dance, Drama, Art and Music alongside the traditional academic subjects.

Our teaching staff are passionate about their subjects and are experts in educating and inspiring boys to achieve excellence, no matter what their aptitudes and abilities.

It is a strong feature of our school’s philosophy to provide a wide range of opportunities outside the classroom. We take students on curriculum-related day trips within London as well as residential trips in the UK and abroad, and offer a plethora of extracurricular clubs – from football and gardening to computer programming and chess.

It is our priority that every student feels safe, known and valued and we pride ourselves on the quality of our pastoral support. Students’ wellbeing and academic progress is overseen by a Head of Year and every boy joins one of four houses, which play a pivotal role in establishing the strong community identity and caring ethos of the school.
