Barb Geringer

Barb Geringer is currently the Assistant Director for Cooperative Fire in the Pacific Southwest Region of the U.S. Forest Service. Previously, they served as an Emergency Management Specialist and held the role of National EMS Program Manager in 2019. From 2016 to 2019, they were the Prevention, Mitigation, and Education Program Manager at Region 5, where they provided leadership to fire prevention practitioners and coordinated community wildfire preparedness initiatives. Their experience also includes positions as a Fire Mitigation and Education Specialist with the Bureau of Land Management and as a Pre-Fire Planner with the Ventura County Fire Department. Barb is pursuing a certificate in Environmental Conservation at American River College.
