Barbara Beasley

Barbara Beasley serves as the North Zone Paleontologist for the US Forest Service since January 1992, where responsibilities include developing the Paleontology Program, providing education on fossil resources, assisting in policy development, conducting public educational programs, and aiding law enforcement in cases of fossil theft. Previously, Barbara worked as a Nort Zone Paleontologist for the South Dakota Geological Survey and contributed to cartography for the state geological map. Experience also includes teaching Invertebrate Paleontology and geology courses at Fort Hays State University. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Earth Sciences from Fort Hays State University and a Bachelor’s degree in GeoSciences from the University of Tennessee at Martin.
