Brian Staab is the Regional Hydrologist for the US Forest Service's Pacific Northwest and Pacific Southwest Regions, overseeing the protection and restoration of water resources across 35 national forests. With over two decades of experience, they have developed watershed strategies that integrate scientific research with practical application, receiving national awards from three Forest Service Chiefs. Their previous roles include serving as Deputy Program Manager for the PNW Research Station and working as an Environmental Engineer at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and Environmental Scientist at NASA Ames Research Center. Brian holds a Master of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Science from Penn State University. Currently, they serve on the Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board, supporting statewide watershed protection efforts.
