Ellen Shaw

Assistant Director

Ellen Shaw is a conservation leader with over 25 years of experience working internationally and across the U.S. Their expertise encompasses leadership, management, cross-sectoral collaboration, and policy negotiations in more than 50 countries. Ellen held various significant positions, including Assistant Director at the U.S. Forest Service from 2015 to 2022 and Foreign Policy Advisor at the U.S. Department of State from 1999 to 2015. They earned a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy with a focus on Environmental Policy and International Negotiations from the Fletcher School and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Oregon. Currently retired, Ellen continues to contribute to conservation efforts.
