Eric Ming

Forest Protection Officer

Eric Ming has extensive experience in outdoor recreation and environmental management. As a Contributing Writer/Photographer for The Watch Newspaper since August 2011, Eric specializes in articles focused on adventurers in the Telluride, Moab, and Southwestern Colorado areas. Concurrently, Eric serves as a Forest Protection Officer for the US Forest Service, managing recreation and resource protection in the northern San Juan mountains and the Uncompahgre Plateau. Previous roles include Operations Manager for Mesa County Libraries, overseeing library facilities and construction projects, and Ski Patroller at various ski resorts, where avalanche safety and accident response were key responsibilities. Eric has also held positions with the National Outdoor Leadership School and the National Park Service, focusing on emergency management and law enforcement in outdoor settings. Eric's educational background includes training in National Park Service Law Enforcement.
