John Winn

John Winn, M.S., is the National Assistant Director for Media Relations (acting) at the U.S. Forest Service and a Public Affairs Specialist with the U.S. Air Force Reserve. With over 23 years of military experience, including tours in South Korea, Germany, Iraq, and Turkey, John has worked in high-pressure environments and developed training plans. After serving as a Munitions Systems Specialist, John transitioned to public affairs, holding positions in various Air National Guard units and eventually becoming a Public Information Officer for the City of Salem, Oregon. John earned a Master of Science in Communication from Purdue University and completed the Public Affairs Communication Strategy Qualification course at the Defense Information School.
