Michael Lewis possesses extensive experience in both environmental writing and meteorology. Currently serving as a Writer-Editor and National Environmental Policy Act Planner for the U.S. Forest Service since July 2020, Michael engages with interdisciplinary teams to produce accessible public documents related to environmental assessments and compliance. Prior to this role, a distinguished 23-year career in the U.S. Air Force included responsibilities as a Weather Officer, encompassing various meteorological and leadership functions, culminating in retirement in May 2020. Additionally, Michael has experience as a Meteorologist with the National Weather Service from April 2012 to April 2020. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Meteorology from the Naval Postgraduate School and a Bachelor of Science in Geography/Meteorology from the University of South Alabama, complemented by military education at the USAF Air War College and the USAF Air Command and Staff College.
