Simon Nokes

Simon Nokes is an executive-level economic development professional currently serving as the Director of Growth Business & Skills at the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority. With extensive experience across public, private, and third sectors, Simon has a proven track record in policy development, strategy implementation, and corporate governance. Previously, Simon was the Chief Executive of Pentra Services, which successfully supported over 500 individuals back into employment and generated a turnover of £2 million annually. Simon has also played key roles in various organizations, including serving as Executive Director at the Greater Manchester Combined Authority and leading strategic development for the region. Simon holds a First Class Honours Degree in Economics from the University of Exeter and has completed management and company direction programs at Liverpool John Moores University and The University of Salford.
