Jad Chamoun

Jad Chamoun is a software engineer who currently works at Forethought. Jad has previous experience working at Vinelab and ICANN. At Vinelab, they worked on building an API that integrates with HAProxy to add and remove instances while autoscaling dynamically. Jad also reduced automated app deployment time by 80% using Jenkins to build docker images for AWS OpsWorks instances. Additionally, they won second place in an internal competition within the engineering team to get analytics from Facebook and Instagram using Python.

At ICANN, Jad led parts of a project to monitor the stability of the Generic Top Level Domains (gTLDs) in the root zone of the Domain Name System (DNS). Jad also built a stateless platform involving five microservices to alert external stakeholders about regional DNS outages using Java, Spring, Kafka, and Redis. In addition to their work on service team projects, Jad also focused heavily on building ICANN's microservices deployment and delivery platform from scratch.

Jad Chamoun earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the Lebanese American University. Jad then pursued a career in computer science, earning a certification from Amazon Web Services in AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate. Jad currently works as a software engineer at Google.
