Kyun Woo Hong began their work experience in 2015 as a Graduate Student Research Assistant at the University of Virginia. In 2018, they continued as a Graduate Student Research Assistant at Fermilab, and in 2019, they became a Graduate Student Research Assistant at Argonne National Laboratory. In 2022, Kyun Woo was selected as a Software Engineer fellow at Formation, where they received personalized coaching from top-tier software engineers, studied system design fundamentals, and implemented new features in a large code base.

Kyun Woo Hong pursued their education at the University of Virginia, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from 2009 to 2015. Following this, they continued their studies at the University of Virginia and completed a Master of Arts degree in Physics from 2015 to 2021. Concurrently, they also pursued a Ph.D. in Nuclear Physics at the University of Virginia from 2015 to 2022. In terms of certifications, Kyun Woo Hong obtained a Doctor of Philosophy degree and a Master of Arts degree from the University of Virginia in May 2023 and August 2021, respectively. Additionally, they earned an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS). Kyun Woo also completed courses in Applied Data Science with Python and Machine Learning through Coursera, although the exact dates of completion were not provided.
