Marcus Edgette

Marcus Edgette has a diverse work experience in various roles. Marcus is currently working as the Manager of Professional Services (Tax) at Formations since May 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Tax Associate at R.D. Barnett PLLC from November 2020 to May 2021, where they prepared tax returns, implemented new procedures and technology, and provided tax consulting to high net-worth clients. From May 2018 to October 2020, Marcus worked at GPL Tax & Accounting as a Tax Preparer II, where they reviewed and prepared tax returns, provided tax consulting and projections, and supported the team with complex tax treatments. Marcus also worked at Corfini Gourmet as an Accounts Receivable Specialist from March 2017 to May 2018, where they handled multiple accounting functions and performed data entry. Marcus started their career as a Tax Preparer at Jackson Hewitt Tax Service Inc. from December 2016 to April 2018, where they prepared tax returns, analyzed client's financial records, and provided quality customer service. Prior to this, they worked as a Cashier and Driver at Campus Wok from September 2012 to June 2016. Marcus also held multiple roles at Western Michigan University, including Haworth College of Business Ambassador from January 2014 to August 2015, where they represented the Accountancy department, and Resident Assistant from August 2013 to April 2014, where they fostered community and enforced university policies. Marcus additionally worked as the Head Server at Tokyo Express from September 2012 to March 2013.

Marcus Edgette attended Western Michigan University from 2010 to 2015, where they obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Accountancy. Prior to that, they attended Saint Clair County Community College from 2007 to 2010, where they obtained an Associate's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies. In addition to their formal education, Marcus has earned certifications such as Enrolled Agent (EA) from the Internal Revenue Service, which they obtained in December 2019, and the IRS Annual Filing Season Program certification, which they obtained in January 2018.
