Alexander McCarthy is a seasoned materials scientist and technology leader with extensive experience in developing innovative materials for 3D printing. Currently serving as the Material Lead for Development at Formlabs since November 2021, Alexander previously held significant roles at AI SpaceFactory as Chief Technology Officer and Head of Materials R&D from July 2020 to December 2021, as well as at Formlabs as Materials Lead and Scientist from June 2013 to July 2020. Academic foundations include a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, with a minor in Material Science, from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where Alexander also contributed as a Student Researcher focusing on carbon nanotube synthesis and autonomous robotics from 2011 to 2014.
