Derek Vilim is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in product management and design within the aerospace and technology sectors. Currently serving as a Senior Hardware Product Manager at Formlabs since October 2020, Derek manages product lines for selective laser sintering (SLS) and stereolithography (SLA). Prior experience includes roles at MSB, a subsidiary of Sogeclair, where Derek developed custom products and mechanisms for business jet interiors, and held engineering positions at Honda R&D Americas and Bombardier Aerospace, focusing on underbody design and interior component modifications for aircraft. Derek's academic background includes an M.Sc in Product Design Engineering from both the University of Glasgow and The Glasgow School of Art, as well as a B.Eng in Aerospace Engineering from Carleton University.
