Will Porterfield

Will Porterfield is an accomplished scientist with extensive experience in research and development within the fields of chemistry and engineering. Currently serving as Scientist II at Fornia BioSolutions, Inc., since January 2020, Will previously held positions as Scientist I and worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of California, Berkeley. Will's academic background includes a PhD in Chemistry from UC Irvine and a BA in Biochemistry from the University of San Diego. Achievements include synthesizing novel bioluminescent probes and luciferins, contributing to publications, and mentoring students in various educational settings. Additional experience spans roles at companies such as Micro-Tracers, Inc., Pfizer, and The Scripps Research Institute, alongside teaching high school students in Micronesia.
