Torrence Smith

Torrence Smith, M. Ed. is an experienced educator currently serving as an Early College AVID Teacher at Fort Bend ISD since August 2023. Previously, Torrence spent nearly a decade at Fort Bend ISD as a High School Resource English Teacher for English 2 and held the position of Special Education Department Chair. Torrence's professional background also includes roles at UnitedHealth Group as a Supervisor in Provider Services and various technical positions at Verizon Wireless, Winstar Communications, and RadiSys Corporation. Torrence's military service as a Hospital Corpsman in the US Navy further enhances a diverse skill set. Currently pursuing a Doctorate of Education in Special Education Curriculum from Liberty University, Torrence also holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from Lamar University and an MBA from the University of Maryland.
