Skip Heizer is a seasoned private equity investor and company builder with over 30 years of operating, investing and legal experience. Skip is managing member of Heizer Capital LLC, a business development and investment company, and is Chairman of three Heizer Capital portfolio businesses: Manus Health Systems, Inc. of Chicago, Illinois (operator of dental health care centers); LB Limited of London, England (underwriter of specialty insurance); and Trinchera Production Company of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (owner of oil & gas interests).
Skip serves or has served as an advisor or independent director to numerous other private and public businesses, including companies in the health care, specialty foods, and investment management industry, and is an active member of the National Association of Corporate Directors. Earlier in his career, Skip was a partner at the law firm Gardner, Carton & Douglas where he specialized in working with high growth businesses.
Skip serves as the sponsor liaison for The Heizer Center for Private Equity and Venture Capital at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and for The Heizer Award issued on an annual basis by The Academy of Management for the best doctoral dissertation in the field of new enterprise development.
Skip earned a J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law and both a B.S. in Management Science Engineering and a B.B.A. in Business from Southern Methodist University.
