Paul Chen has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Paul started their career as a Graduate Assistant at National Taiwan University, where they worked from September 2004 to September 2006. Following this, they served in the military for mandatory service from October 2006 to November 2007.
After completing their mandatory service, Paul worked as a Software Engineer at CONCURRENT TECHNOLOGY SERVICE INC. in Taiwan from January 2008 to December 2008. Paul then pursued further education and became a Graduate Assistant at NYU–Poly from January 2010 to March 2014. At NYU–Poly, they conducted research on digital signal processing and also worked as a Teaching Assistant.
In 2014, Paul joined Richtek as a Senior Engineer. During their time there, they worked on various projects until June 2016. Paul then joined Fortemedia, where they started as a Senior Engineer and later took on the role of Principal Engineer from September 2018.
Throughout their career, Paul has worked on tasks such as developing deep neural net algorithms for speech enhancement, exploring better architectures of neural nets, wavelet transform, sparse signal representation, audio and image signal processing, and compressed sensing.

Paul Chen earned their Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Chang Gung University in Taiwan from 2000 to 2004. Paul then pursued a Master of Science degree in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from National Taiwan University from 2004 to 2006. Following this, they went on to obtain a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in the same field from the New York University - Polytechnic School of Engineering from 2009 to 2014.
