Chris Dare

Chris Dare has over 15 years of work experience in various roles within the technology and cybersecurity industry. Starting in 2006, Chris worked as a Support and Integration Analyst at Realex Payments for six months. Chris then moved on to work as a Web Developer at Puma for a year and a half before joining OpenJaw Technologies as a Software Engineer. In 2009, Chris joined Paddy Power, where they worked as a Web Developer for two years and then transitioned into the role of Application Security Specialist, which they held for four years. In 2015, Chris joined JUST EAT as a Senior Application Security Specialist for a year and then moved to CME Group Regulatory Reporting. At CME Group, they initially worked as a Senior Security Engineer for six months before being promoted to Head of Cyber Security. Chris held this role for three years before joining Bugsnag in 2020 as a Lead Security Engineer. Currently, Chris is employed at Forter as a Senior Security Engineer, starting in January 2022.

Chris Dare has a solid educational background in the field of computer science and geomatics. Chris obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Geomatics from Technological University Dublin, where they studied from 2000 to 2004. Following that, they pursued further education at University College Dublin from 2004 to 2005, completing a Higher Diploma (HDip) in Computer Science. These academic achievements provided him with a strong foundation in both geomatics and computer science.

Additionally, Chris Dare has obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 2006, they earned the Sun Certified Java Programmer certification from Sun Microsystems. This certification indicates their proficiency in Java programming. In 2014, they obtained the GIAC Web Application Penetration Tester (GWAPT) certification from GIAC, demonstrating their expertise in testing the security of web applications. Chris Dare also holds the Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP) certification from (ISC)² since 2015, signifying their knowledge in secure software development practices.

Furthermore, in 2017, they received the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from (ISC)², showcasing their competence in information security. Most recently, in 2020, Chris Dare obtained the ISO 27001 Lead Implementer - Information Security Certification from IBITGQ (International Board for IT Governance Qualifications), indicating their ability to implement and manage information security systems.
