Alex Jiang Ph.D. is a seasoned professional in network security and research, currently serving as a Staff Security Researcher at Fortinet since May 2020, where responsibilities include leading R&D planning and strategic direction for network security innovations, resulting in four first-authored patents. Prior to Fortinet, Alex was a Senior Security Researcher at Simon Fraser University from September 2015 to August 2020, focusing on IoT smart lighting systems, and presented research at two IEEE conferences. Experience also includes a Research Engineer role at Singapore Polytechnic, where Alex led the development of an intelligent monitoring system, and an Electrical Engineer position at the State Grid Corporation of China involved in maintenance of power substations. Academically, Alex holds a PhD in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from Simon Fraser University, a Master's in Power Engineering from Nanyang Technological University Singapore, and a Bachelor's in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Wuhan University.
