Danilo Laban is an Industrial PhD Candidate at Uppsala University since February 2021, focusing on grid frequency control using various technologies and the integration of energy storage and hydropower into hybrid power plants for enhanced unit performance and grid stability. Concurrently, Danilo serves as a Business Developer at Fortum, actively pursuing increased production flexibility and frequency regulation capabilities of the hydropower fleet, while exploring synergies with wind power and energy storage. Previous experience includes positions as K-FORCE Project Responsible for the European Youth Parliament Serbia, Master Thesis Student at Fortum analyzing hydro power stations, and Research Intern at CITCEA-UPC modeling Power Electronic converters for HVDC applications. Danilo holds a Master of Science in Energy Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, a summer school diploma in Business and Entrepreneurship from Esade, a Master of Science in Energy Innovation from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor with Honours in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad.
