Mathieu Veillette

Mathieu Veillette is an experienced geotechnical and water management professional with a strong background in tailings and water management strategies across various leadership roles. Currently serving as the Director of Geotechnical, Tailings and Water at Fortuna Mining since August 2022, Mathieu implements and oversees corporate standards for critical geotechnical infrastructure. Previous experience includes positions as Senior Manager of Water and Tailings at Fortuna Mining, Senior Lead Tailings, Geotechnical and Water Management at Galore Creek Mining Corporation, and Senior Geotechnical Engineer at Teck Resources Limited. Mathieu has also held senior positions at AMEC, URS Corporation, and SRK Consulting, gaining expertise in project management, site investigations, and construction quality assurance. With a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Queen's University and a Graduate Diploma of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University, Mathieu combines technical proficiency with business acumen in the mining industry.
