Surafel Assefa

Surafel Assefa is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in plant management and continuous improvement within the automotive sector. Currently serving as Deputy Plant Manager and Faurecia Excellence System and Productivity Manager at FORVIA since April 2022, Surafel is responsible for managing MOD cost budgets and implementing FES principles during the design stage of programs. Prior to this role, Surafel held positions as Inventory Analyst and Engineering Change Coordinator, and Plant Master Scheduler at Faurecia, where responsibilities included coordinating production and customer demand. Experience also includes roles as Purchasing Manager and Field Supervisor at Cool Cane Inc, VP Finance at Ryerson University’s Mechanical Engineer Course Union, Design and Test Engineer for the BAJA Society of Automotive Engineers, and Private Tutor. Surafel holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, from Toronto Metropolitan University and a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt certificate from the University of Toronto.
