Brian Pikkula

Brian Pikkula has a strong background in the medical device industry, with experience in various scientific and managerial roles. Brian currently serves as the Chief Scientific Officer at Forward Science, a medical device company focused on advancing scientific innovation. Prior to this, Brian worked as the Manager of Technical Services at Medical Metrics and as a Sr. Development Scientist at Remicalm. Brian also held the position of Sr. Scientist at UT MD Anderson Cancer Center and worked as a Graduate Student and Postdoctoral Research Associate at Rice University. In addition, Brian gained research experience as a Research Assistant at Candela Corporation. Overall, their work experience spans over two decades and demonstrates their expertise in scientific research, project management, and innovation.

Brian Pikkula has a strong educational background in bioengineering and biomedical engineering. Brian obtained their Bachelor of Science degree with an emphasis in biomedical engineering and electrical engineering from Louisiana Tech University, where they studied from 1993 to 1997. Brian then pursued their Ph.D. in bioengineering at Rice University, specializing in the field of bioengineering. Brian completed their doctoral degree at Rice University in 2003. Later, they furthered their education at Rice University by obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in bioengineering and biomedical engineering.
