Jon Skinner has a diverse work experience in the gaming industry. Jon started their career with The Guildhall at SMU in 2003, where they held various roles including Producer/Team Lead/Lead Level Designer and Lecturer of Level Design. During their time there, they oversaw student team projects, provided guidance and troubleshooting, and taught level creation for different games. Jon also worked as a Programmer/Designer on a Microsoft XNA/XBox360 project.
In 2009, Jon joined id Software, where they worked as an Associate Producer, Technical Producer, and Designer/Scripter. Jon was involved in game development and scripting, contributing to various projects.
Afterwards, they returned to The Guildhall at SMU in 2012, serving as a Lecturer and Assistant Clinical Professor. Jon taught level design and eventually became an Assistant Clinical Professor. In 2021, Jon joined ForwardXP as a Senior Designer, and in 2023, they transitioned to the role of Senior Technical Designer.
Jon Skinner attended Queen Mary University of London from 1993 to 1996, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Astronomy and Mathematics.
