Rob Szumski

Rob Szumski is an experienced leader in product management and applied AI, currently serving as the Head of Applied AI at FOSSA since July 2025, where Rob focuses on launching innovative products like fossabot, an AI agent for strategic dependency updates. Prior to this, Rob was a Venture Partner at Pioneer Fund and the CEO & Founder of EdgeBit, which was acquired by FOSSA, specializing in real-time supply chain security. Rob's extensive background includes roles at Red Hat, where Rob led product management for OpenShift initiatives, and at CoreOS, where Rob was instrumental in the development of user experiences for container-based products. Rob began the career as a User Experience Designer at Rackspace Hosting after obtaining a BS in Industrial Design from Virginia Tech and completing an educational program at Y Combinator.
