Matt Heaton

Matt Heaton is the founder and CEO of FossilEra. Matt has over fifteen years of experience in the technology industry, with a focus on web and software development.

Heaton got their start in the industry as a lead developer and development manager at Urban Influence. Matt then went on to become the CEO and president of ActiveRain Corp., where they oversaw the development of a social media platform for amateur sports teams. In 2008, they founded Timu Corp., which encompassed multiple startup projects, as well as a Ruby on Rails development consulting business. Under their leadership, Timu Corp. designed and built Starpires, a massive multiplayer strategy game that currently has over 100k registered players.

In 2012, Heaton left Timu Corp. to start Bad Pug Games, where they developed Starpires, a sci-fi themed strategy MMO. Matt then returned to Timu Corp. in 2013 before founding FossilEra in 2014.

Matt Heaton has a BS in Computer Science from The Evergreen State College.
