John Shearer

John Shearer is an accomplished software engineer and technical director with a diverse background spanning over 15 years in software development and education. Currently serving as Lead Software Engineer at Foundry since October 2023, and Technical Director at Sqork since August 2020, John has previously held significant roles including Principal Software Engineer at Altium® and Technical Director at Masters of Pie. Notably, John led the development of a revolutionary cross-platform 3D printing software at E3D Skunkworks Ltd and has extensive experience in academia, having served as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Lincoln and Teaching Fellow at Newcastle University, while earning a PhD in Computing Science from Newcastle University. John's expertise encompasses a range of technologies and methodologies, with a strong emphasis on automation, agile practices, and inclusion in teaching and research.
