Katharine Chen has extensive experience in educational and research roles, currently serving as an Assistant Researcher and Research Coordinator at foundry10 since July 2020. Prior to this position, Katharine worked at Macalester College as a Course Preceptor from September 2019 to May 2020, where responsibilities included conducting study sessions and coordinating with professors to support student needs in courses such as "Introduction to Symbolic Logic" and "Ethics." Additionally, Katharine served as a College Writing Assistant for a First Year Course at Macalester College, providing support and guidance to first-year students in their writing transition. Previous roles include functioning as a Writing Tutor at the MAX Center, assisting with various writing projects, and working as a barista at Dote Coffee Bar, contributing to its inaugural launch. Early experience includes an internship with Page Ahead Children's Literacy Program, focused on organizational support for literacy initiatives. Katharine holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Macalester College, supplemented by a semester abroad at the University of St Andrews.

In collaboration with diverse partners, we surface, evaluate, and share opportunities to better support youth learning both inside and outside the classroom. We do this through applied and experimental research, as well as philanthropy and educational programming rooted in evidence-based best practices.
