Ryan Rushton

Strategic Partnerships Director at FourthRev

Ryan Rushton is currently the Strategic Partnerships Director at FourthRev. Prior to this, they were the Partnership Director at FutureLearn from January 2018 to April 2021. Ryan was responsible for leading the industry partnerships team and for developing FutureLearn's portfolio of industry partners and courses. During their time at FutureLearn, they also successfully partnered with Advertising Week, Samsung, Accenture, and Raspberry Pi.

In addition to their work at FutureLearn, Ryan has also been responsible for delivering industry/gov collaborative programmes with HEIs including University of Leeds, University Arts London, Queen Mary University London, Durham University and Ravensbourne University London. Ryan is skilled in developing relationships within the government and has successfully partnered with the Institute of Coding, National Centre for Computing Education, Skills Toolkit, and the Cabinet Office.

Under Ryan's leadership, the partnerships team at FutureLearn has grown and flourished. Ryan has been instrumental in developing successful partnerships that have resulted in valuable courses and microcredentials for learners. Their work has had a positive impact on millions of learners and has helped to establish FutureLearn as a leader in online education.

Ryan Rushton earned their Doctor of Philosophy in English Language and Literature from the University of Dundee. Prior to that, they completed an MLitt in Writing Culture from the same school. Ryan also holds a Master of Arts in English Language and Literature from The City College of New York, as well as an MA (Hons) in English Language and Literature from the University of Dundee. In addition, Ryan holds certifications from FutureLearn in Introduction to GDPR: General Data Protection Regulation and from the Association for Project Management in APMP (PMQ).

Their manager is Mark Lester, Chief Partnerships Officer. They work with and Andrea Dixon - Partnership Manager.
