Barbara Shurtleff

Barbara Shurtleff, MBA, has a diverse and extensive work experience. Most recently, they are a Leadership Committee Member for 50/50 Women on Boards, where they aim to bring gender balance and diversity to corporate boards in Washington DC through fundraising and events. Barbara also serves as the Chief Information Security Officer for Fractionals United.

In addition, Barbara is a candidate in the NYSE Board Advisory Network / Diversity Initiative and works as a CxO Advisor for Buffalo Shield Cybersecurity Solutions. Barbara holds the role of President of the Board of Directors for HERO KIDS FOUNDATION, where they have been involved since 2019. Furthermore, Barbara is a member of CEOX, a community supporting women in leadership positions, and an Executive Member of the Digital Directors Network.

Before their current roles, Barbara founded and was the CEO of Two Tree Farm. Barbara also served as the CIO and EVP at One Man Carpentry from 2006 to 2023. Additionally, Barbara has held multiple roles at SAIC, including CTO- Programs and VP, Director of Network & Security Solutions.

Barbara Shurtleff, MBA has a diverse education history. Barbara earned their Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Management Information Systems (MIS) from the University of Mary Washington- College of Business in 2018. Additionally, they completed the CERT Certificate in Cybersecurity from Carnegie Mellon University in 2018 and the CIO Pathways Leadership Program from CIO Executive Council in 2017. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) from Strayer University in 2006 and an Associate of Applied Computer Science (AACS) from Northern Virginia Community College in 2004. Barbara has also participated in various certificate programs and obtained multiple certifications related to cybersecurity, corporate governance, coaching skills, and team wellbeing.
