The Francophone Museum is dedicated to the history and heritage of French-speaking communities in the Bay Area. Located inside the Alliance Française de San Francisco, the oldest Alliance Française chapter in the United States, we opened our doors in May 2024. Our collection captures the many faces of Francophone life throughout SF history, from Gold Rush adventurers to restaurateurs of the Roaring Twenties. We house historic artifacts, lithographs, books, and photos, as well as a rotating art gallery showcasing contemporary works connected to the Francophone world. Explore a side of San Francisco you won’t find anywhere else.
