Alyssa Staats

Alyssa Staats has a diverse work experience in various research and data analysis roles. Alyssa is currently working as a Data Analyst at Fraym. Prior to this, they worked at the Bureau of Labor Statistics as an Economist, where they prepared and processed data series for labor and multi-factor productivity measures. Alyssa also drafted memos and documentation related to economic productivity metrics and assisted in their development and improvement.

Alyssa has also worked as a Master's of Science (MSc) Candidate in Statistics (Social Statistics) (Research) at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), where they focused on coursework in statistical inference, generalized linear modeling, and survival analysis, among others. Alyssa conducted their dissertation on the crime effects of state-level ban-the-box legislation.

In addition, Alyssa has worked as a Consultant at Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), a Research Associate & Post-Baccalaureate Student at the University of Pennsylvania, and a Research Associate for Quality and Training at Innovations for Poverty Action. Alyssa has also held research assistant positions at Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), Global Financial Literacy Excellence Center, Inter-American Dialogue, and the National Alliance of Community Economic Development Associations.

Throughout their work experience, Alyssa has demonstrated proficiency in data collection, cleaning, analysis, and utilizing software such as Stata and R. Alyssa has also conducted research, produced policy papers, and assisted in large research projects.

Alyssa Staats attended the Ranney School from 2007 to 2011, but no specific degree or field of study was mentioned for this period. Alyssa then pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in International Economics at Georgetown University, graduating between 2011 and 2015. Following their undergraduate studies, Alyssa went on to obtain a Master's degree in Statistics from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) between 2019 and 2020. In addition to their academic qualifications, they also obtained the Certification of an IRB Professional (CIP) from PRIM&R in April 2018.
