Judd Devermont possesses extensive experience in African affairs and intelligence, having served in key positions such as Director of the Africa Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies from July 2018 to October 2021, and National Intelligence Officer for Africa at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence from October 2015 to July 2018. Prior to these roles, Devermont was a Senior Political Analyst at the Central Intelligence Agency and held various roles at the National Security Council, including Special Advisor for Africa Strategy. Devermont has also contributed to academia as a lecturer at The George Washington University from August 2017 to December 2021. Currently, Devermont is involved with Fraym as a Board Member and serves as an Operating Partner at Kupanda Capital. Educational background includes a Bachelor’s Degree in History and African Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a Master of Arts in African Studies from Yale University.
