Partner-in-Charge Audit at Frazier & Deeter

As Partner-in-Charge of Frazier & Deeter’s Assurance & Advisory Practice, Sean Lager brings over 20 years of experience to the firm’s audit clients. His expertise encompasses global and domestic companies reporting under U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP) as well as International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Sean is the national leader of the firm’s Technology Group and a technical accounting expert with significant involvement with large to middle-market companies in the service, international manufacturing & distribution and broker-dealer industries. He provides technical accounting guidance in ASC 606 and IFRS 15 Revenue from Contracts with Customers, Leases (ASC 842 and IFRS 16) and Business Combinations.

Sean formerly served as Chair of PKF’s International Professional Standards Committee (IPSC) and is the former vice chairman of the AICPA’s Technical Issues Committee (TIC). In addition, he was chosen by his peers in the global profession to serve on IFAC’s Transnational Auditors Committee. As a result of the issuance of Topic 606 Revenue from Contracts with Customers, Sean was named to the AICPA Auditing Revenue Task Force, which contributed to the issuance of the AICPA Audit and Accounting Guide for Revenue Recognition. Sean was recently appointed to the AICPA Financial Reporting Executive Committee (FinREC).

Sean previously served as a member of the AICPA committee to establish training and IFRS certification and was featured in the AICPA’s training video “Are You Ready for IFRS: Moving Beyond the Basics.” In addition, he has been published in well-known trade magazines and domestic and global accounting publications, including the Journal of Accountancy, Chartered Accountants Magazine in Canada and the Atlanta Business Chronicle. Sean has delivered presentations and training programs to organizations around the globe such as the AICPA and various accounting networks regarding accounting and financial reporting matters ranging from U.S. GAAP, IFRS and IFRS for SMEs to the global convergence of financial reporting.
