Patrick Flaherty

Patrick Flaherty is a Clinical Trial Assistant at Fred Hutch, focusing on clinical trials for immunocompromised patients in the Virology and Infectious Diseases Department since June 2023. Concurrently, Flaherty conducts clinical research for an honors thesis at UVM Medical Center in the Neurological Sciences Department, collaborating with Dr. James Boyd on a study of smoking effects on Huntington's disease symptoms. Flaherty also served as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant in an introductory biology lab from January to May 2023, facilitating lab activities and student support. Prior experience includes an Undergraduate Research Assistant role at the Gotelli Lab, performing DNA extraction and qPCR analyses on Ranavirus, and serving as the True Pike Experience Chairman for the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, leading educational events for over 80 members. Flaherty graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology, Chemistry, and Pre-Medicine from the University of Vermont in May 2023.
