Recycling contamination costs Canadian municipalities millions every year. 25% of blue bin contents are contaminants, and nearly 1 in 3 residents get sorting questions wrong.

Fred it Right is an AI-powered waste sorting platform built for municipalities. Residents scan or type an item and get instant, locally accurate disposal instructions — tailored to their city's specific rules, not generic recycling advice.

Our confidence-aware AI asks clarifying questions when unsure instead of guessing, achieving 95%+ classification accuracy. Municipalities get a custom rule engine, multilingual support (English and French), and an analytics dashboard to track contamination trends and drive data-driven policy decisions.

Built and validated with real municipal data from Fredericton, NB as part of the Boost Ideation 2026 competition. Now expanding to municipalities across Canada.
