Alison Tang

Computational Biologist II

Alison Tang is a Computational Biologist with extensive experience in bioinformatics and molecular biology. Currently serving as a Computational Biologist II at Freenome since February 2022, Alison previously held the role of Computational Biologist I at the same company. Prior to that, a Ph.D. in Biomolecular Engineering and Bioinformatics was obtained from the University of California, Santa Cruz, where Alison worked as a Graduate Student Researcher from September 2016 to June 2022. Alison's academic foundation includes a Bachelor's Degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, complemented by research roles focusing on genetic selection in D. melanogaster populations, CRISPR/Cas9 applications in breast cancer, and methods to tag senescent cells. Additional volunteer experience at Highland General Hospital involved supporting patient care.
