Ben S.

Ben S. has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Ben started their career as a Technical Process Documenter at Bell Helicopter in 2004. Ben then worked as a Campus Representative for Apple from 2004 to 2006. Following this, they joined Texas A&M University as a Graduate Assistant at the Immersive Visualization Center, where they created computer programs and visualizations from 2006 to 2010.

In 2010, Ben joined Industrial Light & Magic as a Render Manager for a brief period. Ben then transitioned to DreamWorks Animation, where they held various roles including Effects Artist, Software Engineer, and Software Development Team Lead. During their time at DreamWorks Animation, they contributed to the creation of visual effects for popular movies and improved the reliability and user satisfaction of internal tools.

In 2015, Ben joined Apropose, Inc. as a Software Engineer and later became the Director of Front-end Development. Ben worked collaboratively with other engineers to ensure the smooth functioning of the website and integrated various technologies into the back/front end.

Currently, Ben is employed at Freenome, where they have held multiple roles. Ben initially joined as a Senior Software Engineer, focusing on building research tools for the wetlab. Ben later served as a Senior Engineering Manager, leading a team of fifteen. Presently, they hold the position of Director of Engineering.

Ben S. obtained a Masters degree in Visualization Sciences from Texas A&M University, which they completed between 2006 and 2009. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at the same institution between 2002 and 2006.
