Michael Day is an experienced geologist with a robust background in geological research and public engagement. Beginning as a Student Worker at the Museum of Geology from August 2012 to November 2016, Michael led tours and managed atmospheric data while organizing exhibit improvements. Additional roles include a Wax Museum Associate at the National Presidential Wax Museum and a Geology Intern at Freeport-McMoRan, where responsibilities included safety prioritization, geological modeling, and field mapping. Michael also served as a Geologist I on the Geomet team, utilizing XRD data for exploration projects. With a Master’s Degree in Geology from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and extensive hands-on experience across various geological roles, Michael brings valuable expertise to the field.
