Simon McElrea is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in leadership roles within the semiconductor and wireless charging industries. Currently serving as Chairman & CEO at LQDX since August 2023, McElrea led the divestment of the Mina® Business and has introduced novel chemistries for AI, semiconductor, and packaging applications. As Strategic Board Advisor for FreePower, involvement with Tesla has propelled the company into the spotlight, earning recognition from FastCompany. Previous positions include CEO and Board Director at SonicEnergy™, CEO and Board Director at HZO, and various leadership roles at Energous Corporation, Xperi Corporation, Vertical Circuits, and Amkor Technology. McElrea holds an MEng with honors and a BA with honors from the University of Oxford, and has undertaken recent studies in Renewable Energy at Stanford University.
